Garden Studio Maternity Photography Session in Chico CA - Konyn Family

They met me in my backyard garden studio here in Chico for their family photo session just before baby is about to arrive. Natalie looked beautiful as always!
She took me up on borrowing one of my many dresses I offer to anyone mama who books a session with me. She picked up a handful earlier in the week to try on before the session. I love the option she chose!

Carter John is here and he’s such a cutie! Our whole family has been waiting for his arrival. After taking newborn photos in my garden studio, he had a welcoming committee in our house next to the studio. My oldest Kaizen even took a turn holding him and it was so cute!
Spring Upper Bidwell Park Chico CA - Owen Family
The Owen family was my first Upper Bidwell Park session for 2023. This family is beautiful and it was an honor to photograph them again!
The rain in Chico has been consistent the last few weeks but magically on the day of their family photo session, the rain cleared and we had the most amazing sunshine out the entire day. It was such a breathe a fresh air to have blue skies before the rain continued shortly after.

This is probably one of my favorite Chico maternity sessions I photographed in 2022. Amy, this beautiful mama below has been working for our family for the last two years. Her main role for our Rainmaker business and our family is taking care of our boys. She’s been an incredible nanny, office assistant, and someone to lean on in so many ways over the last two years. Our family is better because of her commitment and love she has shown to us!

I love when families take me up on using my natural light garden studio. It was designed for creating beautiful timeless images for families just these three below! There’s great natural light at any point in the day.
My focus with these newborn sessions has always been to capture the connection between parents and their littles. As a mom, I cherish every photo session I have with my boys no matter how hectic or challenging the season is. Each and every-time a family steps in front of my camera I’m honored to be that photographer capturing those types of images for my families!
Chico California Family Lifestyle Photographer - Spring Family Photos - Carranza Family
This was my last Chico family photo session before having my second son Oliver. It was extra special for me for a number of reasons. Number one was because this was a family session with two boys that are the same gape that my two sons are. It felt like a glimpse into my new reality and make me so excited to watch the bond grow between my sons just like these two boys.
Second, Ashley had worked in the wedding industry with us and it was such an honor that reached out wanted to capture this sweet season of her family out on their beautiful property near Butte College.

I spent the morning here in Chico with this new family of four as they have embraced the new change so gracefully. Charlie is the oldest and so happy to show off her baby sis to anyone before she headed to preschool that morning. Eileen is sweet and slept for nearly the full session.

Baby Caleb is here and he’s just perfect! This baby boy is so loved and so sweet. I arrived at Jenni and Ollie’s beautiful home in Redwood City and as soon as little Caleb was done feeding we started their in home newborn session.
We utilized all the natural window light in their upstairs living space and jumped between Caleb’s nursery and mom and dad’s room

The last time I had seen these two was at their Upper Bidwell Park maternity session and I had been looking forward to seeing them again this time with their baby in their arms.

This past weekend, I photographed a handful of Motherhood photography session here in Chico. This was one of the session I’ve done in the past few weeks. I plan on offering these motherhood session in the future because they were so fun. Beyond the joy I felt, I truly feel these sessions are so important to have captured. As momma’s we are often the ones behind the camera capturing the moments of our children. We often forget to get in front of the camera and be IN the photos with our kiddos.

My husband Stephen and I were their wedding photographers and videographers several years ago and it’s been wonderful to connect with them over the years since their Patrick Ranch wedding. This won’t be the last time you see these two on the blog either. They booked my maternity and newborn family experience which I’m so excited for. The next time I see these two in person, they will have a beautiful baby girl in their arms!

I love this family so much. They are near and dear to our hearts for so many reasons. Nicole and Adam were one of our TréCreative wedding couples. They had a beautiful wedding in the Spring out at Nicole’s family cattle ranch several years ago. Since then, I have had the privilege of photographing them over the years as their family has grown. In between their three babies, we’ve seen them go through career transitions and blossom together as a family.
